What is one thing people should know about you?:

Puns are priority. And I like it hard.

What are your favorite mantras?

“If it hurts to run, and it hurts to walk, you might as well be running.”

Why the Summit Endurance Academy for coaching?

Joe, obvi. He’s honest, real, a badass, wears jorts, and pretends to laugh at my dad jokes. (Also, he knows his shit and is top notch at what he does.)

What are three things you always pack on any trip?

My electric toothbrush, my Exped sleeping pad, and my 11th, 12th, or 13th etc. pair of Salomon running shoes.

Are you more of a hunter or a gatherer?

Hunter! If you want something, go and get it! Unless there are berries on the trail. Then gatherer.

Name three weakness/guilty pleasures?

These ugly-ass gauchos that I sleep in, running harder that I am supposed to on easy days (big weakness that I need to work on), and shower beers. Personally, I think the shower beers are a strength and a guilt-free pleasure, but that’s just me.

What inspires you?

People who push their own limits and are passionate.

What do you do to relax?

Climb a mountain. Or go for a run if I haven’t in a few days. Apparently I get crabby when I don’t.

What is your spirit animal?

A marmot for sure. They love to eat, sleep, lay in the sun, and adventure high up in the mountains.

What are your nutrition principles?

There’s not a perfect diet. Listen to your body, see what works for you, and eat real foods when possible. Respect your body, but enjoy doughnuts.  Personally, I’m moving in the direct of a more plant-based diet. ALSO, fun fact, one avocado has 13 (13!) grams of fiber. That’s half your daily way to a good poop!

What question should I have asked?

What’s the difference between 365 used condoms and a car tire? One’s a good year and one’s a great year. 🙂
